Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response

If a spill occurs which is beyond your ability to safely contain and clean up, you should:

Clear the work area of all personnel and isolate the spill by closing all doors to the area.
Pull the fire alarm if there is:
- An uncontrolled fire or open flame,
- An uncontrolled compressed gas release, or
- Any situation that poses and imminent threat to health and safety
Immediately contact the campus Environmental Health and Safety Office and/or Public Safety.
