Biomedical Waste
Biomedical waste is regulated under the Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act (the Act). The Rules for Solid Waste Management are included in Chapter 391-3-4 with biomedical waste addressed in Rule .15.

Biomedical waste shall mean and include the following:
- Pathological waste
- Biological waste
- Cultures and stocks of infectious agents
- Contaminated animal carcasses, body parts, etc.
- Sharps
- Chemotherapy waste
- Discarded medical equipment and parts
