Tuition Classification (Residency) and Out-of-State Tuition Waiver Information
  • The Board of Regents Tuition Classification Policy
All students attending a University System of Georgia college or university are classified as either in-state or out-of-state for tuition purposes. Based on Georgia Code 20-3-66, BOR Policy 4.3.2 outlines the criteria for classifying students as in-state or out-of-state.

  • The Board of Regents Out-of-State Tuition Waiver Policy
Some students not meeting the requirements to be classified as in-state may meet the requirements to be awarded an out-of-state tuition waiver. Students classified as out-of-state should review the out-of-state tuition waivers outlined in Policy 7.3 to learn more about the waivers. Students wishing to apply for a waiver should contact their institution to learn about specific waiver criteria, application deadlines and to receive the appropriate waiver application form.
