Ergonomic Training for Stacks
As you look at the tasks that make up your workday, it is important to consider some of the Factors that Contribute to a Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorder. These factors include:
- Repetition - The number of times a movement is repeated. This can generally be counted, such as the number of times you pick up books.
- Duration - The amount of time spent doing a task or tasks. Examples of duration would be putting up books two hours a day three times a week or putting up books five days a week for six hours each day.
- Pressure - Compression of a body part against surface
- Force - A push or pull on the body or body parts
- Position - Static or awkward posture
- Physical Characteristics of an Object - Weight, Size and Shape of anything you are working with
