Teaching and Learning Centers Program Spotlight
Savannah State University’s new Center for Teaching and Faculty Development (CTFD)
Welcome to Shawn Rosenquist, director, and Patrina Lingard, program support specialist, of Savannah State University’s new Center for Teaching and Faculty Development (CTFD).
Together they work to build and foster a collaborative space for faculty enrichment and engagement. According to Dr. Rosenquist, they hope for the CTFD to become “a vibrant hub for communities of professional excellence, an incubator for teaching innovation, and a critical element in maintaining continuous teaching effectiveness in the face of changes in student populations and job market demands.”
New initiatives for the CTFD include faculty workshops, expanding learning communities, and facilitating cooperative participation in summer conferences among faculty.
Dr. Rosenquist was formerly the academic coordinator for First Year Experience and an instructor of Marine & Environmental Sciences for Savannah State. Ms. Lingard worked at the College of Charleston before coming to Savannah State, and holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development, a B.S. in Psychology, and a B.A. in Women and Gender Studies.
