WHAT:
Ninth annual Board of Regents Salute to Education
- Bernard will present Gov. Deal with a check in support of the governor’s Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen (REACH) scholarship program.
- Adams will receive the Elridge McMillan Lifetime Achievement Award for his service to higher education in Georgia.
- Four alumni of the USG will be named to the Regents’ Alumni Hall of Fame.
- Four USG faculty members will receive the Felton Jenkins Jr. Hall of Fame faculty award.

The governor and chancellor will deliver greetings at approximately 8:45-9:00 p.m., following dinner. The awards will follow the governor’s remarks at approximately 9:10 p.m. At approximately 9:15 p.m., Chairman Ken Bernard will present Gov. Deal with a $50,000 contribution to the REACH program.

The event raises significant funding for scholarships, recognizes distinguished faculty and alumni of the University System of Georgia and honors an individual who has demonstrated a lifetime of extraordinary service to higher education in Georgia.
