University System of Georgia Chancellor Thomas C. Meredith announced today the appointment of an additional faculty member to the campus committee charged with assisting in the selection of a new president for Fort Valley State University.
The FVSU Presidential Search and Advisory Committee was appointed by the chancellor early this month to help identify the best candidate to replace current president Dr. Kofi Lomotey, who will step down from the presidency on June 30.
Dr. Joyce Jenkins, chair of FVSU’s Department of English and Foreign Languages, has been named to the committee.
Chancellor Meredith also announced that the executive search firm Ayers & Associates, Inc., based in Arlington, Va., has been selected to assist in identifying qualified presidential candidates.
