Dr. Thomas C. Meredith, chancellor of the University System of Georgia, delivered the attached remarks today (August 5), at the Board of Regent’s meeting in Atlanta.

The remarks, in part, address the latest request by the state’s Office of Planning and Budget for all state agencies to propose additional cuts in their current FY 2004 and proposed FY 2005 budgets.
