Chancellor Davis Applauds Georgia’s 2006 SAT Rankings
Atlanta — August 29, 2006
University System of Georgia Chancellor Erroll B. Davis Jr. issued the following statement regarding the annual state rankings of student SAT scores released today by the College Board:
“Georgia’s educational partners have been working together to develop a comprehensive approach aimed at raising the state’s SAT scores, resulting in the highest national ranking ever recorded in our state,” Davis stated. “I am especially pleased to see the gains in minority participation and the number of students taking advanced placement courses. These improvements reflect that students are becoming better prepared for the rigors of college-level work. This trend towards enhanced preparation should bode well for enhanced retention and graduation rates, once these students enter the University System.”
