There were several activities as a part of Employee Learning Week (December 1-5). Employee Learning Week is a national Association for Talent Development (formerly the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) initiative. This awareness campaign highlights the important connection between learning and achieving organizational results. As part of the week, a “Brunch and Learn” was facilitated by Lisa Conley, Organizational Development Manager at the Trinity Washington building to provide information on training resources and to promote the use of SkillSoft, our USG e-learning platform. Eighteen staff members attended.
Shared Services kicked off their FY’15 Learning Plan. The first part of the plan was a Personal Accountability course in SkillSoft. Twenty-nine SSC team members completed the course.
Other USO locations also participated in the Personal Accountability course as a part of Employee Learning Week. All learners that completed the Personal Accountability course were eligible to receive basketball tickets from the nearest USG school as part of an incentive for course completion. Tony Taylor, and Jenna Zaenglein from Shared Services received a prize pack that included tickets to a Georgia College and Columbus State matchup. Vanessa Rabb, and David Register from ITS received UGA Men’s basketball tickets, and Stephanie Irvin from GPLS received tickets to a Georgia Tech Men’s basketball game.
