Hazard Classification and Label Elements

The Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) does not specify where on the label the six elements must be placed. This is why it is especially important for you to be able to identify the six label elements so you can find the information you need quickly.

There are two Signal Words for labels: “Danger” and “Warning”.

  1. “Danger” is used for the more severe hazards

  2. “Warning” is used for the less severe hazards
