Mission Statement
Office of Facilities
It is the goal of the Office of Facilities to provide appropriate and well maintained facilities, to assure the effective management of real estate assets, and to provide environmental safety guidance and oversight, all as needed to support higher education purposes of the academy in a manner consistent with the policies and procedures set forth by the Board of Regents and good business practices. In this regard, the Office of Facilities will emphasize the need to:
- Provide service and support to the Board of Regents, campus administrations, and the students to meet the higher educational needs of the citizens of Georgia;
- Support preplanning techniques and sustainable development so that public funds are used wisely;
- Coordinate construction with approved institutional missions, academic programs and enrollment projections;
- Meet deadlines for the opening of new or renovated facilities;
- Maintain existing buildings and facilities appropriately;
- Facilitate timely environmental review;
- Provide careful and considered review of potential leases and property transfers; and
- Support and encourage the good stewardship of property through physical master planning.
