High School GPA Requirements

Information for Future Students

The High School GPA (HS GPA) is calculated using the 17 units of the USG’s Required High School Curriculum (RHSC) and is calculated on an alpha four-point scale with high school numerical grades converted to letter grades based on the conversion tables provided by each high school. Those letter grades are then converted to quality points as follows:

A = 4
B = 3
C = 2
D = 1
F = 0

Each USG college and university has established a minimum HS GPA required for freshman admission. Prospective students are encouraged to view the USG Freshman Admission Requirements document for the HS GPA, test score and Freshman Index requirements for each of the colleges and universities in the University System of Georgia.
